SOLUTION ONE

Gastric Bypass Surgery For Dramatic Results

Gastric bypass surgery is exponentially more restrictive and risky. However, the weight loss tends to be around 30-40% of the patients excess body weight. This solution is much more drastic. All types of weight loss surgery should all be considered with this one caveat in mind; you must be willing to put in the work to lose the weight and keep it off. By work I don’t just mean hit the gym every day, excercise is important too. Once you heal after the operation you are left to your own devices once again. So, if you are like me, and sneak sugary snacks, the operation will be all for not. Lets face it, being obese closes one off from living their best life. My surgery is making me look inward to try and figure out why I overeat like I thought I enjoyed so much. I am coming into the realization that food is fuel and nothing else. It won’t help me get over a bad day or a fight with my husband, it is simply giving my body the nutrients that it needs. As I am beginning to fully understand these facts, I can clearly see that overeating does not hurt anyone but myself. So I hurt myself when I overeat, the very person that I was trying to comfort? It is beginning to sound like overeating is just a vicious cycle that I can rise up and defeat once and for all. The fact that I have had weight loss surgery is going to make me a warrior in the fight I have battled for so many years.

SOLUTION TWO

Gastric Sleeve Helps To Understand What A Normal Portion Really Is

I think I kinda love this sleeve situation. I can finally eat a much smaller portion and feel satisfied. If I am being honest, I have had some EPIC FAILURES. But, as with any weight loss surgery, you must live and learn what works for you. But, remember how I stated I occasionally bend the rules and enjoy sugar way more than anyone should? When I made those poor decisions, I paid the price. I dearly, paid the price. As it were, sugar is not my friend like I once thought. It sounds funny when I think back on this but I have used sugar as a crutch for everything. Turns out, it only helps one get diabetes and cellulite. So moving on from my misdirection, I am forced to weather the tough times on my own. Exercise is a big help for me. It uses up that energy that I used to use to run to the store to buy cokes and ice cream. Writing helps me stay out of the kitchen and I love that. Listening to podcasts help me refocus from my pizza daydreams. You begin to experience more things in life without being all jacked up on sugar all the time.

SOLUTION THREE

Lap Band; The Least Desireable Of The Three

I say this from experience folks, I actually had a lap band back in the early 90’s when they first came out. Sure, I lost some weight at the beginning. But as the years passed, I wondered more than once, what was I thinking? The first time was several months after I had my little girl, I was innocently vacuuming the living room when I felt a big pop where the band was. Turns out, the thing came loose and I had to have revision surgery. It was not until years later that I would realize how very lucky I was that this thing did not end up a bigger catastrophe than it was. The next time was when I had my gastrectomy. The Dr. told me that it took her nearly two hours to remove the band. This time the band had grown into my stomach. She said that happens more often than not. I do not know how this could have turned out and I think I am just glad I had it removed once and for all when I did. So this is why I say the lap band is the worst thing to be peddled to us since fake boobs. Endless revisions and complications are the result of putting something foreign inside of our bodies. Unfortunately, I say this from experience.
