WHAT ARE DIFFERENT WAYS I CAN KEEP MY BODY HYDRATED ?

SOLUTION ONE

Eat hydrating foods like cucumbers, celery and apples

SOLUTION TWO

Infuse your water to keep from getting bored of hydrating

SOLUTION THREE

Incorporate chai seeds to boost hydration levels

SOLUTION ONE

Eat hydrating foods like cucumbers, celery and apples

Up to 20% of your daily hydration can come from the foods you eat if you pick the right ones. These foods are made up of at least 85% water:

  • tomatoes
  • strawberries
  • celery
  • iceberg lettuce
  • cantaloupe
  • watermelon

and can help boost your hydration levels.

If you are not eating these foods because they are not an easy grab and go snack try prepping them at the beginning of the week and putting them in a produce storage container. Save some for solution two while you are at it!

On the flip side make sure you are not eating dehydrating foods that are processed, salty or have high sodium counts (more than 140mg per serving)

SOLUTION TWO

Infuse your water to keep from getting bored of hydrating

So many times people stop drinking water because the thought of eight tasteless glasses of water a day makes them cringe.

Try infusing your water to give hydrating some variety. Simply done, you can add some lemon or lime juice to your glass or water bottle. A twist on this is to freeze a little lime or lemon juice in a pop out ice cube tray to chill and flavor your water at the same time.

If you want to get serious about your flavors try these combinations to a beautiful and tasty on the boring everyday glass of water.

  • mint and lemon
  • apple and orange
  • basil and watermelon
  • rosemary and pear

You can make a big batch and use an infuser water pitcher to store it in your refrigerator or a to-go infuser water bottle to take with you.

SOLUTION THREE

Incorporate chai seeds to boost hydration levels

Chai seeds are an ancient solution to staying hydrated. The tiny chia seed is capable of retaining 25 times its weight in water. Just like an ant, super small and super powerful. This is important because it will help your body store electrolytes.

Why is storing electrolytes important? Because electrolytes control the flow of water to your cells. Without them, your body can get off balance.

This is a great solution for people who work out, are training for something physical and runners. If you are not exercising or sweating on a regular basis chai seeds may be more than you need.

How do you get chai seeds in your body? You can sprinkle on yogurt, roll a banana in them, put on your cereal. Chai seed has a nutty taste so you can add it to anything that can pair with that flavor! Aim for 1.5 tablespoons of chai seed a day.
