SOLUTION ONE

Organize all the hanging items in your wardrobe by color and material weight

Color coding your closet is one of the most visually pleasing options. This option is great for selecting knowing exactly where to go to find a particular item of clothing. Most people tend to favor a particular color in their wardrobe so that is why it is also important to organize by weight. For instance, your sleeveless linen shirt should be on one side of your blue section and your blue wool turtleneck sweater should be on the other. When you finish with this you will be able to stand back and really see a difference in your closet.

If you really want to have the full effect you should also buy matching hangers. If you are on a budget plastic white hangers can do the trick. Try to find ones with a notch in the top to catch sleeves and heavier items. If you can spend the money a nice wood hanger looks great and prevents lines in the clothing from hanging. To really take it to the next level use items specific hangers. Like trouser clamps to hang pants or a full triangular hanger to pair suits and suit coats

SOLUTION TWO

You can use things other than hangers to organize your closet

Your hanging wardrobe might be a mess is because you wish you had more drawers but don’t have the room. It could also be because taking the time to put every item of clothing on a hanger is a pain so you end up throwing your things on the floor. If you can’t see your carpet after trying on outfits this could be you. One suggestion is to try hanging sweater boxes and hanging shoe boxes. If you can manage to make each compartment a color then even if you do not fold the clothes before they go back into the box it will still look better than having it balled up on the floorA shoe pocket organizers can be used for storing t-shirt, socks or other cotton items that do not wrinkle easily.

SOLUTION THREE

Use section markers on your clothing rods to create visible divides

A really simple solution for an overcrowded closet is closet rod dividers. Sometimes the number of clothes you have is more than the amount of space you have. If your clothes are packed in you can use the dividers so you can narrow down where to find the items you need. Instead of going through the whole bar you can go through one section.
